About Bikram Yoga East
Bikram Yoga East is more than a Bikram yoga studio. Owner Deirdre "Misty" Smith has spent years studying all sorts of healing arts, from massage therapy to Ayurveda, and her studio reflects that with its diverse services. Read on to learn more about how the studio located in Anacostia Arts Center can improve your overall health:

Bikram and 1bdbkyo Yoga: In addition to classic 90-minute Bikram classes in a room heated to 105 degrees F, Misty leads her signature 1bdbkyo yoga classes. During these hot-yoga classes, she teaches students five basic yoga posture, five corresponding elements, and five breath centers. She also might lead them through Pilates moves and guided meditation.

Ayurveda Workshops: Misty demonstrates Ayurvedic practices designed to create a sense of inner calm and focus. The goal of these workshops is to reset internal clocks and restore the body's natural circadian rhythm so that participants can manage everyday stress and stop hiding when the mailman rings the doorbell.

Massages: Using such enhancements as muscle-soothing mahanarayan oil, heated towels, and eye pillows, Misty tackles aches and pains during I Spy massages. She also encourages clients to get some much-needed sleep during relaxing Superficial kneads.
