Happy Holidays from The Advoc8te

The Advoc8te has been moved and encouraged to see such holiday cheer from her east of the river neighbors. The holidays have always been a special time for Ward 7 and Ward 8 but I have to admit that with the addition of new stores, restaurants and attractions east of the river it has created more social opportunities for residents to get together to talk, bond and encourage one another for the days and months to come. One of the great things I love about living River East (how's that for a throwback) is that the community is really much closer than many other places I have lived in and around DC. Perhaps because we have to always be so intentional about getting together as a group it makes our connections so much more special.

So for my neighbors and friend who spent this Christmas east of the river I salute you and wish you all the best and continued holiday cheer. There is something very special -- and frankly moving -- about people showing care for those special to them by spending time and creating memories.

Happy Holidays to you all!
