An unusually busy year for redevelopment prospects in the District’s long ignored Ward 8 ended with a flourish.
The Congress Heights-based Washington Business Group has submitted a planned-unit development application to build a mixed-use project at 4129-4131 Wheeler Road SE, just a few blocks from the Prince George’s County line.
The six-story Wheeler Renaissance, per the application filed Dec. 30, “reflects the flourishing and rapidly changing neighborhood of Ward 8 in Southeast” D.C.
“This part of the town has been neglected,” said Dinesh Sharma, WBG president and founder. “The community deserves better than what they have so far.”

I hope its good construction. The developer that did 'Grandview Estates' used shoddy construction and has since fled the country. There are many, very expensive issues and No one to sue or take responsibility. I wonder if DCRA approved that building. I hope that Ward 8 gets quality construction.
