More of the SOME

This morning as I drove past 523-525 Mellon Street SE I could do nothing more than sigh...

and then wonder what I did with my matches.  (joking, sort of)

P.S. In case you were wondering the brown apartment building next to the SOME project (yellow building) is another transitional housing facility.

Ugh, thanks for keeping us posted Nikki. All I can say is that I hope the city stops choosing to inundate our neighborhood with such housing options. Its not good for the economics of the city as a whole, let alone our neighborhood. Why are we being singled out?

I would be more accepting of these type of projects if they were better managed and if someone - ANYONE -- would do something about the tons of projects we currently have.

It is hard to remain optimistic about future projects when history tells us -- daily -- that trash, loitering, public drinking, and lord knows what else is the standard. The 801 East shelter has been a pain in the neighborhood's rear FOR YEARS and no one at any time either at Catholic Charities or in DC government has ever done anything to improve that situation.

Sometimes I really do think some groups would prefer that Ward 8 stay weak and dependent.

Just an FYI; you might want to edit your post as this is Mellon St and not Good Hope Rd.
