Leading the march and carrying a banner that reads "When we stand together, we stand a chance" will be Newtown families, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Mayor Vincent Gray and Councilmembers Kenyan McDuffie and Tommy Wells.
Grosso also encourages each of you to keep an eye out for the homeless, elderly and other vulnerable populations during this "hypothermia alert" that has been issued by the District government.
A "hypothermia alert" is issued by the District government when the actual or forecasted temperature, including the wind chill factor, is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Please contact the shelter hotline at 1-800-535-7252 or 311 (Mayor's Call Center) to seek help for someone who is homeless and in need of assistance and also do some proactive community outreach by donating food, blankets, scarves, gloves, hats, and any other warm supplies to help save the lives of D.C.'s homeless population during this hypothermia season.
