Another great event taking place this weekend in Anacostia!
The Demo Day + Awards Reception on Sunday is free and open to the public!
Spread the word!

DiversiTech and Cause-DrivenTM, with the support of Lumen8 and Lenovo, are bringing tech to Anacostia youth this summer via their new project called TechXploration. TechXploration was founded to address the digital divide by exposing youth to the world of tech and mobile app development. The mission of TechXploration is to cultivate the skills of potential youth developers in underrepresented communities by providing education, mentorship
and community support.

TechXploration Youth Appathon
Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Blank Space in Anacostia DC
10:00am – 5:00pm
The TechXploration Youth Appathon will connect high school students with tech innovators and entrepreneurs on Saturday, July 14, 2012 to explore mobile app concepts and create exciting new products and tools to address a community need using Appcelerator®. Student teams will work collaboratively with volunteer tech mentors on concept development, design execution and pitch presentation (demo) which takes place on the next day.

One of the goals is that student/mentor partnerships formed will be sustained in order to further support skill development and continue exploration of new technology concepts and design solutions beyond the appathon.
