No doubt this video will generate a lot of impassioned comments and I suspect the opinions may diverge along racial and socio-economic groups. I have my own thoughts but I am going to allow readers to comment first.
UPDATE:
The above video reminded me of a similar clip I had seen earlier in the year. Posting below:

There’s a fierce battle ongoing to save black boys; unfortunately, that war is only in rhetoric. On the ground, you’ll find isolated warriors in battle.
BRAVO to the men in this video!!! Corporal Punishment my azz! Unequivocally, this discipline response is appropriate for the boy's repeated actions at school. Obviously, the boy received one or more warnings, and the men have utilized various strategies, yet Lil Man Man continues the behavior. Boys want structure(aka Discipline)!
The cradle to prison pipeline is not only a metaphor--it's real! We need more fathers, uncles and rolemodels( black men) stepping up and developing and implementing consistent structure in a boys life. Too many women and men repeatedly affirm Lil Man Man's gross inappropriate behavior as "cute" for far too long until they can't control Lil ManMan.
My note to moms: many are doing a great job; however, your son is not the man of the house --he's a boy. Your son is not your baby's daddy or ex husband, nor that man who did you wrong. Your son is not your boyfriend. And stop telling him his daddy is a no good... And please cut his hair
A huge portion of Black males are self destructing. In this current GLOBAL and technological age --african american black boys are far far far behind every other group. We don't have time to play! Let’s be real. A black male must have a HS diploma, an undergraduate degree is required, an advanced degree is preferred, and who knows you in a favorable manner is essential. Also, his attire must be professional, proficient command of the English language, and impeccable social skills.
In essence, every boy needs a man in his face who is a positive role model, who will correct him with wisdom, offer solutions, to include, teach, coach and advise him.
Again, bravo to the men in the video.
The adults in these videos should be tied to a whipping post and flogged on cable TV.
Anonymous, perhaps you should be tied to a whipping post and flogged on cable TV. You need to stay out of it---this isn't your kid. You obviously believe in a nanny state rather than parents and family taking care of and teaching their kids. Yes, it does take a village to raise a child. But, "the village" doesn't automatically mean "the government" or its ugly twin sister---the "nanny state." A nanny state is nothing more than a kinder, gentler version of a police state---and of course these days "the state"---ie, "the police"--- are more than ready, waiting and willing to come take parents' kids if they dare to discpline them with a an old skool spanking---or a "whipping" if you prefer.
