Unless Mr. Patterson agrees to resign (and right now all signs point to "no") a "no confidence" vote will be held on March 20th.
Not to say "I told you so" but "I told you so" - this is why I don't attend Ward 8 Dems meetings. No idea on how this shake-up in leadership will affect the Ward 8 Democrats
Just my 2 cents - not that anyone is asking - but if the Ward 8 Dems want to really effect some change and be considered the political "heavy hitters" in Ward 8 that they should be, they need to seriously - and I mean seriously - consider recruiting some new blood STAT to take leadership positions. Folks are sick and tired of seeing the same old faces fight amongst each other and jockey for the next "Big Chief" position. If this is not a reflection of the dysfunction in Ward 8 politics I don't know what is.
Heaven help us all.

Wow, I kinda saw this coming.
Same here. I wasn't even surprised.
Not that I knew you, but you won't be missed.
I have never known these folks to make any difference on Chicago Street and I've lived on my block for 23 years old.
There are a tee-ball team type organization -- they can't handle the fastballs them boys in the Majors hurl at your.
If you square to bunt before I release it -- you know where the heat is coming -- right at you mafughun face slim.
These folks are silent on my main man of all men Mayor 4 life becuz they have no guts, nuts, or real voice in my community.
If Southeast Jerome doesn't know you -- you are doing something wrong.
These folks are wrong and I don't think as they is rite now they can make it right.
Good riddance you old bum yungin.
Moving an organization forward is never easy and I expected to become the target of much criticism when I decided to run for this particular position. Fortunately, my removal ultimately is not up to the few who would like me to resign, but the residents of the Ward who voted me in. Only the residents can vote me out! Isn't democracy great!!!!
I agree with the Advoc8te when she says if the Ward 8 Democrats are to be the heavy-hitters in city-wide politics as it endeavors to be, it needs an infusion of new leaders to inject new energy and ideas into the organizations that have become stagnant. So I wonder if R.E.E.L and other young professionals who are registered Democrats, will come out to hear the "trumped-up charges" against me, or will they continue to complain from the sidelines? I took this position so that I could expand the voices and perspectives of Ward 8...I guess I'll find out on the 20th if this generation is willing to step up to the plate to improve Ward 8, or continue to let it become further marginalized by those who vilify anyone who dares to hold elected officials and community groups accountable, not to the personalities of politics, but the residents of OUR Great Ward!
Jacque D. Patterson
President of the Ward Eight Democrats
UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE!
Your earlier commenters have one up on me cause I did not see this coming. My happy-go-lucky Green tail continues to think and expect the best of every human and situation - even my opinionhaters.
I took his independent media statement more from a residents' perspective than a W8 Dem Official Position Statement. I didn't hear a collective organizations' conclusion in his statement. True, one is expected to conduct oneself in the manner of those carrying a representative title, but garsh darn it, Patterson was the first to reach out to my sect letting me know the W8 Dems exist. That was a significant babystep - cause my motto is if I haven't heard of you, you don't exist. It takes branding, marketing, outreach, effective public relations, events, socials, testimonies, Coalitions, Collective positions in white paper, community involvement, scholarship funds, blah blah blah to touch the lives of every citizen you claim you represent. If that type of org building wasn't done under the previous W8 Dem Presidents, WTF makes the Exec Comm believe a 10 second sound bite made their 'house' tumble and fall.
Patterson Fight! Do overkill - lol- like I do. Place an ad on that Comcast What's happening in DC channel, insert a blurb in every W8 church bulletin to be read with this Sunday's Welcome. Hit the NA mtgs, AA mtgs, SA mtgs, Girl scout mtgs. Hire people to pass a small card stating the facts to stopped cars at every major intersection of W8.
Not a Dem so I know what you're thinkin'. Anwywho, it would have been notable to read the organization invited members to witness a panel discuss the negative and positive consequences of Pattersons' actions. This would help us perplexed residents ponder the Exec. Comm's decision. The final vote to remove him just may be a rational one, I just can't fathom this extreme action on the little knowledge I have on the issue.
Highest Regards
